The Protea Hotel Kampala, due to open in 2007 is the first entry into the Hospitality industry for the Simba Group. Situated in the leafy, up-market, residential suburb of Kololo, within five minutes of the central business district the hotel is close to all major embassies. The rooms have been designed to be spacious, light and airy the aim has been to create a property synonymous with a high levels of personal service and an extensive range of comprehensive business facilities.

Hotel facilities will include, amongst others: 70 Bedrooms, including 8 suites, Restaurant seating 140, Cocktail Bar, Six Conference rooms the largest two seating 350 delegates each cinema style, Secure on-site parking, High speed internet access, Fax copy facilities, Airport Shuttle, In-house travel agency, Foreign exchange, Executive Floor (18 Rooms).

The four classes of en-suite hotel rooms are contemporary in style and will offer: Air-conditioning, LCD flat screen televisions, High speed internet connectivity, Satellite television, Mini Bars (Suites), 24 hour in-room dining, Mosquito nets on all opening windows, Tea & Coffee making facilities, Nightly turn-down service, Complimentary suit pressing on arrival.

The hotel will be marketed and managed by the Protea Hospitality Group from South Africa. Protea Hospitality Corporation, formed in 1984 is the largest hotel management group in Africa and boasts the most extensive network. It was rated by "Lodging" magazine, a United States publication, as the 21st largest hotel group worldwide, as per the July 2005 edition. The brand is spread throughout South Africa, as well as London, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Malawi, Namibia, Republic of Congo, Nigeria and Russia.
